Our Mission and Philosophy
At Learn and Love Preschool, we believe in fostering a love for learning through open-ended and hands-on play. Our child-directed approach allows each child to explore their unique interests and talents. We provide a safe, developmentally appropriate, nurturing environment that encompasses the whole child. The curriculum is geared to support children’s social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and academic growth and development. It is created to entice the curious mind, promote a positive self-image, and form strong relationships.
Our program is designed with thoughtfully arranged learning studios that reflect best practices of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf philosophies. Each environment is intentionally prepared to support children’s independence, curiosity, and whole-child development. Together these learning studios offer children a balanced environment where they can explore, create, imagine, and develop essential life skills through meaningful, hands-on, play-based experiences.
The Montessori influence is reflected in hands-on practical life and sensorial experiences such as pouring, scooping, puzzles, and self-care activities that help children build independence and coordination.
The Reggio Emillia approach comes through in creative, project-based exploration, where children express ideas through open-ended art, painting, loose parts, documenting their thinking, and engaging in collaborative group work.
The Waldorf principles are woven in through imaginative, child-led play with blocks, open-ended materials, dress up and dramatic play, and sensory and science exploration, including natural materials.
Our goal is for children to learn independence, become critical thinkers and problem solvers, form positive relationships, and learn academic skills in order to be successful in kindergarten. In our program children’s natural creativity, wondrous curiosity, and individual spirit is encouraged, praised, and celebrated throughout the day. We see every child as unique and special in their own way. We celebrate diversity, accept all abilities, and believe in every form of love. Their voices are always heard and their character always seen. Learn and Love Preschool is a place of acceptance and a lifetime of learning, where we learn to love everyone and love to learn everything.
